Francesco Maglia | Handmade Umbrellas from Milan

Since 1854, the Maglia family has made umbrellas by hand in Milan. Five generations on, Francesco Maglia still works the way his ancestors did: a small team of artisans cutting, sewing and finishing every umbrella in their own workshop.

Each piece is built to last a lifetime, with solid wooden shafts, natural handles and canopies stitched by hand. The result is an umbrella with the same quality you'll find in a benchmade shoe: honest materials, careful construction and a character that deepens with use.
