Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend
Marco Cerrato - Bespoke Trouser Maker
Cerrato is a Neapolitan trouser-maker that's garnered a reputation for producing exceptionally well-made trousers that are attractively priced. It's a tightly-knit family business (which is expected given it's from Naples) and as such, every single stitch is executed with a great deal of love and care as if by osmosis.
Marco will present "The Amsterdam Fit" for his first Trunk Show in Amsterdam: bespoke tailored trousers - in cotton or cavalry twill - you can cycle with!
Whether you're looking for a new pair of go-anywhere flannels or are already thinking of a pair of linen trousers for summer, Marco Cerrato will be at your every wish with a wide-range of fabric options to show you.
Your tailored trousers will be ready by late July if you start the fitting process during the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend. The second and final fitting will take place in Amsterdam as well. All you have to do is decide on a summer or year-round fabric!
Exclusive Capsule: The Hand x Edward Green, variations of Montpellier
This June, we will be offering our customers and friends another opportunity to order a special pair of Edward Green shoes. New for this season, The Hand offers Montpellier in chestnut antique calf in the core collection.
During the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend we will launch a new Group-Made-to-Order: Exclusive to The Hand, you'll be able to order a pair of Montpellier loafers in two different types of leather; bourbon cordovan (sounds delicious, don't you think?) and bronze antique, both of which are tanned in France and will develop wonderful patinas in time. Join us to see the three styles and try them on!
Montpellier: It's elegant, sleek, and has a distinctive look courtesy of the full saddle that stretches across the shoe's apron and vamp.
Naturally, it features a Goodyear-welt with a closed channel and is formed on the shoemaker's 184 last, which lends it a softly rounded toe and therefore a smart-casual appearance. It can be easily dressed up or down according to your taste or situation – work, play or somewhere in between.
Women in Tailoring
We're delighted to co-host the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend with our friend Dennise Yeh of Women in Tailoring. Originally from Taiwan, Dennise has lived all over the world and is now based in Amsterdam, where she and her wife champion all things bespoke via their social media platform.
In her words, Women in Tailoring is about "leaning toward sartorial and classic menswear style without the fear of losing femininity" and "building the connection with more women and men who share the similar interests and promote the shared passion". Dennise is also a co-founder of The Sartorial Club.
Please note that Marco Serrato is in Amsterdam for two days only, and the interest in meeting him is overwhelming. To secure enough time for your personal fitting with Marco, you can book your spot here via The Hand.
We also welcome walk-ins during this weekend. Make sure you stop by to meet Marco, see the launch of the Edward Green x The Hand Capsule Collection and join us for festive drinks in our garden!
