Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend

Postponed: Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend

UPDATE: Due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, our beloved Amsterdam is now under tighter restrictions, and social distancing measures are now being enforced. This means that we sadly have to postpone the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend until further notice.

Everything remains the same with regards to our shop and if you'd like to make an appointment, please email hello@meethehand.com as we'd love to see you.

Original Event Invitation

The Hand x Women in Tailoring are pleased to invite you to the first edition of the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend!

Taking place over the 19th and 20th of November at the wonderful Pulitzer Hotel, this special and one-of-a-kind trunkshow is headlined by three world-famous artisans; Mauro Crimi, Marco Cerrato, and Norman Vilalta, and we’re joined by the sartorialist Dennise Yeh of Women in Tailoring as a co-host.

Here, you will find an overview of the event and instructions of how to attend. Meanwhile, in the coming weeks you can read more about this initiative via our journal and social channels!

  • Dates: Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of November 2021
  • Location: Merchant Room, Pulitzer Hotel, Prinsengracht 323 Amsterdam
  • Booking: This event is by appointment only; book your spot below!

Participating Artisans

Sartoria Crimi - Bespoke Tailoring House

Honing from Palermo, Sicily, Sartoria Crimi is one of Italy’s foremost bespoke tailoring houses that we now have the pleasure of hosting in our beloved hometown of Amsterdam. Founded by Carmelo Crimi in 1970, the business is now helmed by his son Mauro, who is every bit of a gentleman and distinguished artisan. Sartoria Crimi’s house style is typically Sicilian – feather-light tailoring with minimal linings, paddings and interfacings that result in an elegant jacket that fits like a glove. Mauro will be present and at your service over the two days.

Marco Cerrato - Bespoke Trouser Maker

Cerrato is a Neapolitan trouser-maker that’s garnered a reputation for producing exceptionally well-made trousers that are attractively priced. It’s a tightly-knit family business (which is expected given it’s from Naples) and as such, every single stitch is executed with a great deal of love and care as if by osmosis. Whether you’re looking for a new pair of go-anywhere flannels or are already thinking of a pair of linen trousers for summer, Marco Cerrato will be at your every wish with a wide-range of fabric options to show you.

Norman Vilalta - Bespoke Shoemaker

Norman Vilalta holds a special place in our hearts here at The Hand, and we’re delighted to be hosting him at this one-of-a-kind trunk show that’s a first for Amsterdam. From ready-to-wear right through to bespoke, a wide-range of Norman’s unique creations will be showcased to inspire you. Not only that, but Norman will also re-launch an exclusive semi-bespoke program called 1202.

Women in Tailoring

We’re delighted to co-host the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend with our friend and customer Dennise Yeh of Women in Tailoring. Originally from Taiwan, Dennise has lived all over the world and is now based in Amsterdam where she and her wife champion all things bespoke via their social media platform. In her words, Women in Tailoring is about “leaning toward sartorial and classic menswear style without the fear of losing femininity” and “building the connection with more women and men who share the similar interests and promote the shared passion”.

Festive Promotion

To celebrate the Amsterdam Bespoke Weekend, for all your Norman Vilalta ready-to-wear shoe orders during this event, The Hand offers a €200,- voucher for your next purchase.
