John Lobb Spring/Summer at The Hand: lighter on the foot, built for the long run

Some Spring/Summer shoes look right for a few months—and then feel out of place the moment the weather shifts. Our approach is different: we look for pairs that feel lighter now, while still holding their shape and elegance year-round.

John Lobb is particularly strong here. The house has a way of making understatement feel intentional—clean lines, architectural balance, and finishes that reward a closer look.

This season, we’ve pulled together a concise edit—new arrivals that suit warm-weather wardrobes, plus a few returnints consistently ask for.

Texture is the story this season

Color doesn’t need to shout in Spring/Summer. Instead, the interest comes from surface—how grain, nubuck, and suede catch the light as you move.

Foil (new): quiet elegance, richer texture

The Foil arrives in two distinct personalities:

  • Black Light Grain: crisp, tactile, and confident—ideal if you want black without feeling overly formal.

  • Bruinn Nubuck: softer to the eye, warm in tone, and exceptionally easy to wear with cream, tan, denim, or navy.

We also love Foil for another reason: it’s resolable—a detail that matters if you plan to wear a pair often, season after season.

Summer ease, with real structure

If you want the comfort of a relaxed shoe—but still want your silhouette to look sharp with tailored trousers—these are the pairs we keep reaching for.

Laced Stream (new): two moods, one clean line

  • Mist & Sand Suede: effortless with linen, stone chinos, or washed denim.

  • Midnight Nubuck: deeper and more polished—an easy bridge from daytime to dinner.

Pace (new + restock): a versatile summer workhorse

  • Olive Suede (new): adds color without feeling loud; a natural partner for neutrals.

  • Navy Suede (restock): a staple shade that works with almost everything.

And yes—Pace is also resolable, which makes it a particularly satisfying “wear often” choice.

The restocks we’re happy to see again

Some models earn their place by how reliably they fit into a client’s week.
