Worth Knowing
- Loafers: many clients go ½ size down for grip, as long as the length still works.
- Width: a wider fitting adds room in the heel too, which can cause slipping. At this level, many men don't need the wider fitting they wear elsewhere.
- Your reference pair: shoes are often sold slightly large. If yours feel roomy, tell us. It changes our advice.

An Icon of Courage, Crafted for a Modern Legacy
The Chapal USAAF Jacket is more than an exceptional piece of outerwear; it is a direct link to the heroic age of aviation. Originally designed for the United States Army Air Forces, this jacket protected pilots in the unforgiving skies, becoming an enduring symbol of freedom and resilience. Today, Chapal continues this legacy, crafting each jacket in its French ateliers with the same dedication to quality and authenticity that defined the original.
Uncompromising Craftsmanship and Materials
This jacket is rendered in a supple, glossy leather, hand-selected for its durability and its capacity to develop a rich, personal patina over a lifetime of wear. The finish possesses a deep luster that catches the light, highlighting the hide's natural character. Every detail is meticulously executed, from the precisely stitched seams to the robust hardware, ensuring that the jacket is not only a statement of style but a reliable companion for decades to come.
Its timeless design features a clean, tailored silhouette that honors its military heritage while offering contemporary versatility. The fit is both commanding and comfortable, designed to be worn with confidence in any setting.
A Versatile Heirloom
The USAAF Jacket transcends fleeting trends, offering a foundation of style that is both rugged and refined. It pairs with equal authority over a simple t-shirt and jeans or layered with fine knitwear for a more polished ensemble. For the man who values heritage and invests in pieces of lasting significance, this jacket is not simply a purchase—it is an acquisition. It is an opportunity to own a piece of history and to carry its story forward as part of your own legacy.
An iconic model from CHAPAL, it is inspired by the A2 and G1 models of the US Air Force from the 1940s. One of the most popular designs of the 1930s, it was once made from horse, goat, or cowhide.
An authentic jacket, both chic and sporty, it suits all body types and adapts to any occasion, whether for city wear or leisure. Warm and very comfortable, it is the classic "Flight Jacket." The best-seller of our collection.
