Worth Knowing

Loafers: many clients go ½ size down for grip, as long as the length still works.
Width: a wider fitting adds room in the heel too, which can cause slipping. At this level, many men don't need the wider fitting they wear elsewhere.

The Sommet is John Lobb's hiking-inspired boot, made in Northampton for cold days, long walks and weekends away. Leather pull loops make it easy to slip on, and it sits on the 322 Rounded & Relaxed last.

This make-up is cut from black Oxford calf, a smooth, refined leather that takes a deep shine and develops a quiet patina with wear. A Hilly rubber sole gives grip on wet streets and country paths, and the storm welt seals the join between upper and sole against the weather. Goodyear-welted, it is made to be resoled for years. Pair it with cords, flannels or dark denim through fall and winter.
