Worth Knowing

Loafers: many clients go ½ size down for grip, as long as the length still works.
Width: a wider fitting adds room in the heel too, which can cause slipping. At this level, many men don't need the wider fitting they wear elsewhere.

The Whitworth is an Edward Green derby made on the 303 last, a round-toed shape with a slightly fuller, more relaxed character. Its open lacing and clean lines make it an easy, versatile shoe for every day.

This make-up is in black London Grain, Edward Green's textured grain calf with a practical, robust character. It sits on the R3 sole, new to Edward Green this season: a double-thickness rubber sole in a slightly softer compound that runs the full length of the shoe, giving it more body and a firm, grounded feel. Goodyear-welted in Northampton, it pairs well with flannels, cords or denim through fall and winter.
