What size should I buy?

Do you use UK or US sizes?

All sizes listed on our website are UK sizes.

 

Can I get a different make-up of a shoe I have seen?

Yes! In fact, the specialty of The Hand are made-to-order shoes, designed specifically for you. Check out this page for inspiration, and contact us to discuss the available options. Have you made up your mind already? List your ideas here, and we will contact you to discuss the details and provide a price indication. 

 

    What is your return and exchange policy?

    What are the costs for shipping? 

    We aim to make shipping as fair and straightforward as possible. Below you will find detailed information on our shipping policies based on your location and preferred shipping method.

    Shipping Within The Netherlands

    • Our standard carrier for shipments within the Netherlands is PostNL.

    • We charge a flat contribution of €10 to cover part of the shipping costs. We pay the rest.

    Shipping Within Europe

    • For shipments within Europe, we use DHL Economy Select as our standard shipping option.

    • We split the shipping costs with you: you pay €20 per shipment, and we cover the rest.

    • Express Shipping: If you prefer faster delivery, you can opt for DHL Express. In this case, the surcharge imposed by DHL will be added to your shipping cost based on your delivery location.

    Shipping Outside Europe

    • For shipments outside Europe, we also use DHL Economy Select as our standard shipping option.

    • We share the cost of shipping: you pay €30 per shipment, and we cover the rest.

    • Express Shipping: Should you require expedited delivery, you can select DHL Express. The express surcharge set by DHL will be added based on the destination country.

    • Delivery timelines will be indicated during checkout based on your location and selected shipping method.

     

    What are the costs for returns?

    • Standard Returns: Returns are free of charge, except for items purchased during a sale.

    • Sale Items: For sale items, the return shipping cost is equal to the amount you paid for shipping when placing the order.

    • If you need to return an item, please follow the return instructions provided with your order or contact us for assistance.

    Does the price listed include VAT? 

    If you order from a country in the European Union, the price listed includes VAT. If you order from a country outside the European Union, the price listed excludes VAT. At checkout, the local taxes and duties for your country are added.

     

    Do I need to pay additional taxes and duties? 

    Non-EU residents orders may be subject to import duties and taxes. These are shown at checkout and charged when you purchase from The Hand. No further surprises.

     

    Can you declare a lower value on my shoes? 

    No, we cannot declare a lower value on your purchase. This practice is illegal, and it is not accepted by Dutch authorities. We must comply with all customs regulations and declare the full and accurate value of the items.

     

    When is your sale?

    Our shoes offer an incredible value for money and are timeless, hence we do not discount them often. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know about promotions. If we decide to discontinue a product line, you will be able to buy it in the end-of-line section at an adjusted price. 

     

    Do you offer price adjustments on sale items? 

    We offer a price adjustment on items purchased up to 7 days prior to the commencement date of a seasonal sale. Please be aware that the exact style and size must be available for purchase at the time your request is made. Contact us to discuss your request.
