Special Make-up Selected by The Hand
Corthay’s take on the classic Chelsea boot brings a fresh sense of confidence and attitude to the much-loved menswear staple. Crafted using the Pullman last, which is renowned for its sharp and chiselled toe, wide fit, and gripping heel, this boot is meticulously constructed using a versatile snuff brown suede named Castor.
Earning the stamp of approval from The Hand, this suede was selected for its unique patina and lighter color, which is both vibrant and illuminating. The choice of this special suede ensures that the Chelsea boot ages gracefully, adding character and depth over time.

Maison Corthay embodies the height of bespoke shoemaking artistry, founded by Pierre Corthay in 1990 after years of training with France’s finest artisans.
Known for their sophisticated designs and dazzling patinas, Corthay shoes are more than footwear—they are works of art. Perfectly balanced between tradition and innovation, Maison Corthay offers an array of classic and contemporary styles, each finished to an unparalleled standard of craftsmanship that reflects its bespoke heritage.
- Use Shoe Trees: Insert well-fitting shoe trees to maintain shape and extend lifespan, especially if shoes get wet. Premium suede can handle rain.
- Brush Regularly: Use a high-quality suede brush (preferably natural rubber, like Turms) to remove dirt. Use a welt brush to remove dust and dirt trapped in the crevices.
- Handle Stains Professionally: For stubborn stains (e.g., oil), consult a cobbler to treat with suede shampoo.
- Avoid Overusing Protective Sprays: Choose a natural protector; limit silicone sprays as they block leather pores and reduce breathability.
